Today I am out filming with the new Magic Lantern firmware as well as shooting some stuff for a new Kessler Crane tutorial/showcase video.

Over the next week, I will be shooting a new promo using the Oracle system by Kessler Crane.

I will be replying to emails and blog writing as I will be gone for the next two days.

I am currently in Austin, Texas at #MastersInMotion — shooting a 3 Minute Short each day of the conference. I have finished day one (and after overshooting) — am prepping for day two of the conference.

I finished the day one edit at 3am last night and was unable to grade the piece or do a fine cut (bit long) so am taking a more laid back approach today — making sure to have a firm plan ahead of time .

I am back from a week in Plymouth, Indiana with Philip Bloom and Eric Kessler. It was an amazing time and I can safely say that they are the two nicest people in the world!

Over the next week I will be catching up on some work.

Last nights meet-up was great — even though the weather wasn’t great. Today I will be heading back to the park and filming a quick little short — if the rain will let me do it.

A few people are still left here at the park so am hoping to catch a few rides with them. Not much work happening today .

I am also currently working on a Canon picture profile post with the release of the new ‘cinema’ PP. I am hoping to have the video live by 7pm.

For the past year, I have been running two personal sites; 3minuteshorts.ca and prestonkanak.com. Until this point, I have kept 3 minute shorts for posting the shorts, news, and blogging and prestonkanak.com as a portfolio site for the freelance projects I work on.

I’ve finally decided to combine them into one as it is very time consuming to run two. Over the next few weeks I will be adding some new sections and rearranging the structure of 3 minute shorts.

I am also currently working on a Canon picture profile post with the release of the new ‘cinema’ PP. I hope to have it up late tonight!

Today I am filming Hawg-A-Rama, an event put on by the Drummond family which features friends, family, country music, food and drinks. It is a full day event.

Last night, after having set up for a full night of timelapses and a few bevies, the clouds rolled in and my efforts were cut short.

Today, Ryan and I headed out for a fun day of paint-balling before starting our full week of filming.

Yesterday, I spent the whole day trying to find a camping spot (literally 8hrs of driving) but because it is the long weekend, everything was booked! I ended up staying at the Best Western Plus that is right on the harbour. Another room with a view!

I have yet to start creating the shorts for the series, “A guide to Filming in the Wilderness”, but will start over the next few days. I have decided to spend the day filming around the city and at the ocean front. My friend, Ryan, is flying in today and we will start on the series once he gets here.

I spent last night at the Hotel Grand Pacific and will be spending they day exploring Victoria.

Tomorrow, my friend Ryan arrives in town and we will then be headed out to do some back-country filming on the island.

I will be creating “A guide to Filming in the Wilderness” over the next two weeks so keep an eye out for the latest posts!

Today I hope to make it out to the island so I can start filming. There have been a few times that I have been tempted to pull over to film but have decided to save it for the island!

I’ve just hit the road for Jasper and it is very gloomy out. I will be stopping in Saskatoon to pick up a few things before getting on the road for a solid 12 hours of driving!

Initially I was planning to head down to Yellowstone & Seattle but will now be shooting part of a web series in Creston, BC starting on the 8th.
